A 100-year history
in Limone sul Garda!
The Girardi family
traditions and dreams
The history of Hotel Bar Limone is almost a century old, handed down from generation to generation - it’s the history of the Girardi family, which left their mark on the small village of Limone sul Garda for almost 100 years. A story of traditions, hard work and big dreams.
It all started around the 1930s
How Hotel Limone
was born
The young eldest son, Aldo Girardi, decided to pursue his passion for mechanics, opening his own small workshop (on today's Gardesana SS 45 Bis).
Subsequently, over the years, a gas station, a small car wash, and a bar, the so-called "Bar Limone," were built. The bar's operations were almost exclusively managed by Aldo's wife, Ester.
Between the 60s and 65s
The accommodation facility
Around the 1960s and 1965s, the first rooms dedicated to overnight stays were opened, and as a result, the current Hotel Limone accommodation facility developed.
During the same years, Aldo and Ester gave birth to three sons: Gianpaolo, Alberto, and Mauro, who followed in the family's footsteps and later dedicated themselves to the business. Aldo and Ester were well-known and respected people in the small town, so much so that everyone, even the first tourists, called them "Grandpa Aldo" and "Grandma Ester."
From the 2000s to today
Past and future
In the early 2000s, the sons took over the management permanently, especially Gianpaolo, also known as “Gianpa”, and Alberto, known to all as “Aller”.
Gianpa has always stood out for his "do-it-all" approach, which remains indispensable today, thanks to his love and attention to every business task; while Aller is recognized for his meticulous attention to detail in the world of beverages, from wine to grappa, entertaining all types of customers!
Today, Gianpaolo's children and their grandchildren, Manuela and Michele, are gradually taking over the reins of the business, carefully embracing the family's history and tradition and promoting the surrounding area.
